Food was good but service was terrible. Staff was very nice, just not attentive. View is great. Atmosphere is good. I will come back for the drinks.

I saw the three stars and almost turned around. This is no three star place. You have a million dollar view and a ten million dollar staff. The wait staff is so very sweet, if things are not perfect, they'll make them perfect. The food, well I got the worst and it was still very good. I got the mussels in the Rockefeller sauce. Basically a white wine sauce with Parmesan cheese. You could eat that sauce off of anything and it would rock. My buddy ordered the fish tacos, they were good for Americanized tacos. Just that I like Mexican street food better. My buddies wife had the burger and it was excellent. All in all a really good place.

Nice bar on the beach you really can't ask for a better location and the view is making. I never seen this place before and my girlfriend and I decided to stop in for a few drinks. We walked up and sat down my girl friend ordered a Piña Colada, which to me seemed a little bit more pricey for what was in it, artificial mix and a shot, if that for 8$...I did enjoy their beer selection, their bottle selection wasn't much and the draft had a few good micros on tap. Our bartender was nice, didn't really go out of the way to converse with anyone except co workers. The atmosphere was bland, the view was amazing, but there was just stuff missing that could have made the experience a whole lot better, more selection of alcohol, bigger bottle list, more authentic drinks...etc. Things like this can help certain aspects of someone is coming off the beach to have a drink.

Location is everything!! Located right on the beach and is perfect for enjoying a meal on the Space Coast and remembering why life in Florida does not suck!! The drinks are good. Ordered the Watermelon Lemonade served with rum and it was good, not enough drink for the cost in my opinion but makes for a perfect sip on the beach. I ordered the fish and chips and was underwhelmed. The chips (fries) were good but I really was not a fan of the breading used on the fish. I assumed beer-battered and should have asked prior to ordering but instead it was more of a cornmeal like breading, think grainy corn-dog. I did like the fish they used, mahi mahi is always nice when you can get it. I recommend drinks on the beach or on the Observation deck when you're in the area!

There are a number of ways to survive the hot Florida Sun but one of my favorite ways is to find a beach that serves ice cold cocktails. Sand on the Beach offers both, I recommend grabbing a seat on the handrail on the second floor it will only be minute or two before a friendly member of the wait staff will be setting you up for a relaxing afternoon. We didn't have plans to eat here so I really didn't find a need to do a full inspection of the kitchen all my offerings were poured from a bottle. The attire is Florida causal so don't over dress a sun dress for the girls, flip flops, shorts and a tee for the guys is more than adequate, if you're planning to take a refreshing splash in the ocean less is better, there is direct beach access from the bar. They also have a few umbrella covered picnic tables on the beach with full service from the bar. I only see one issue here the parking lot is small and rather tight to maneuver so you might want to take advantage of the public parking lot less than a block away. There are several benefits for using the public parking - for one it's much larger and there is less of a chance of getting you car all dinged up - reason two you aren't pulling out from a bar on to a main highway in a highly patrolled area. Remember always drink responsibly.

When you look for a restaurant with a view you get half of what you expect ... no! This place has it all . Amazing view , exellent service and great food . I have taken everyone in my family here... they all love it... you should give it a shot

I have been here several times with my husband. A few times for lunch, once for a holiday brunch, and other times just to hang out with some drinks and appetizers to enjoy the view. The food is so-so, but we used to go a lot more because the happy hour is great and it's one of the only beachfront restaurants in Melbourne Beach. However, the last time we went, it was a weekday late afternoon, not busy at all, and we sat upstairs at the stools that face the ocean. Two or three different servers passed by us without ever stopping. After 15 minutes of no acknowledgement, we left, and have never gone back. It's a cool place to stop maybe if you are on vacation, but not somewhere to frequent if you live in the area.

Great view on the beach. Had unch with my friends and the food was delicious. I recommend the shrimp tacos, they were light and extremely delicious.

Worst breakfast experience I've ever had. We showed up at 10:15 from Sunday brunch. We were directed upstairs to our table and placed our order for breakfast at 10:20. We sat there with empty mimosa and orange juice glasses and no water until 11:30 (over an hour later). When we finally asked the waitress about our food, we were explained there was a large party and our food would be out shortly. We also asked for refills and water. We waited another 30 minutes and did not see our waitress again for any of the requests. Our food finally came...cold and without utensils. Another 15 minutes for utensils and still no refills on drinks. The syrup for our waffles didn't even arrive before we were fully fed up and walked out. After explaining our poor experience to a manager, we were simply met with the excuse of a large party and that he would "take care of our bill" that we didn't even eat. Lastly, while waiting for our food, the manager directed a smoker to smoke near our table instead of having her walk outside. She refused to move and stated that she was entitled to smoke there. We explained our frustration to the manager (my girlfriend is asthmatic) and he stated that he can't ask her to move either. The absolute worst dining experience I've ever had.

Our server Taryn suggested the Tres Combo of Tacos, by far the best Tacos my mouth have had the pleasure of tasting. She was very attentive with drinks and friendly with nearby patrons. Food is excellent with unobstructed views of the water. Seaside dining in a casual way, I highly suggest this place.

Been coming here for several years, unfortunately, and as I sit here now I am wondering how this portion size of one of the only decent menu items, the wicked ultimate starter, has shrunk in size by at least half. I'd be the last to complain about food portions if the food is palatable but considering that Sand is one of only restaurants on the beach in this county it needs to be made known. This place has such poor food when it would not be that challenging to purchase a few fresh items for the menu. Just another bland restaurant in the food desert that is Brevard county.

Stopped by on a Sunday for some drinks and some late lunch. Food is pretty expensive for portion size and the fact that nothing comes with a side. $14 for 3 small fish tacos isn't a bargain. Drinks not on special are moderately priced. I enjoyed the $5 margaritas on special. For two of us with a chicken quesadilla app (one of the best I have ever had anywhere), mahi rueben (added fries for $2.45), mahi fish tacos, 3 mixed drinks (not on special), 1 beer on special and 3 margaritas, with tip was $100. Service was decent. Would go back for some more margaritas and the quesadilla again.

First of all the view is amazing. I can't think of a better place to eat and be on the beach. I love that beach is so secluded. It's really a perfect atmosphere. Second of all the food. We went for breakfast. I had the Sand Pancakes (pancakes with strawberries, blueberries and bananas on top. The pancakes were seriously the size of my head. And they were so light and fluffy. They were really amazing. Some of the other people in our group went for more adventurous items like waffles with crab meat. I also saw eggs Benedict, French toast, omelets....they all looked amazing. (And everyone seemed to love them!)

  • R B.

My boyfriend and I went here last Sunday cause we wanted to sit outside near the ocean. The only thing we enjoyed was the view and our waiter. The food and service from the kitchen was NOT good. We had mussels that were super fishy and no taste of white wine sauce. And the kitchen runner said our sides with our meal would be right out but they never arrived. Don't think we will go back.

Nice location right off A1A that has patio/balcony seating overlooking Melbourne Beach. You can access the beach itself via the rear entrance/exit and bring drinks out with you. There's live music upstairs in this 2-story bar/restaurant. Bartenders were pretty slow seeing as the place wasn't that crowded but were struggling to fill orders and sometimes even acknowledge new patrons. The place is fighting with nearby beachgoers for parking spots as they were hard to come by.

Love the ocean view. Affordable prices very generous portions. Suzanne our server is outstanding!

The only reason why I went here for the first time is because this is just about the only place in the area on the beach with a beautiful view... This is the only reason why i went a second time. My first time here my boyfriend and i sat at the upstairs bar. The bartenders were very nice and made our experience a little better. Went for happy hour and had the happy hour chicken wings and tacos. Both were seriously terrible. We ordered the chicken wings first. They looked great but as soon as i bit into them i was repulsed. Too much salt. Way too much salt. Ive never been to a place that has oversalted a dish so much that i am not able to eat it. How do you oversalt chicken wings? Gross. Next we ordered the fish tacos and had the same over salting issue. Thank goodness these dishes were on happy hour. If not i would have sent both dishes back. Just awful. My boyfriend and I have worked in restaurants so dont feel right sending food or drinks back so we just stopped eating them. The worst experience i have had at any restaurant foodwise is here. my boyfriend and i tried to jusitfy why the food was over salted and came up with a couple of reasons. 1. Happy hour food doesnt have to taste edible since its on happy hour. 2. They oversalt to preserve old food (gross) 3. There is a high elderly population in the area that have lost their tastebuds and always complain about food being undersalted so they decided to oversalt everything to cater to the elders. Bloody mary was good, wine was fine, and cobb salad was good. Burger was not good at all. You have the amazing view and decent drinks, just fix your crusty food. Giving three stars because i feel bad giving two...

Definitely enjoyed this spot on the beach. First off, the view is spectacular; Melbourne beach is already adorable to begin with but having a cushy spot to nosh makes it that much better. Love that they have natural life around the restaurant, too (trees/plants). The prices are a bit steep but you get a huge portion so it may be worth it, depending what you order. My cheesey fries (with snow crab on top) obviously didn't last long so I don't think they were really worth the price *shrug* But the oysters were amaaaaazing. Everyone el

Was flying out of Melbourne airport in the early afternoon and needed one last beach fix before heading back to the cornfields of Illinois. Sand on the Beach was the perfect spot to wrap up my vacation. Sat upstairs at the handrail, overlooking the beach and soaking in the sun. The spicy bloody Marys were excellent and on special. I had the breakfast BLT and enjoyed it. Wish I had stopped here a day or two before I had to leave--looks like it would be a fun nightspot.

OK, so I've passed this place probably hundreds of times and never stopped in until today for breakfast. Incredible food, great service and a very quaint relaxing atmosphere right on the beach. It's a hidden gem that I highly recommend.

Two stars purely for the fact that the view is awesome and our server was friendly and good at her job. Granted, it has been about 3 years since we have had breakfast here, but it was so disappointing. It was not crowded- that should have been our first clue on a Sunday morning. We came here because our favorite breakfast place a few miles away had over an hour wait to seat our party of 7. I opted for the California minus the eggs, which consists of an English muffin, avocado, tomato and arugula with a side of home fries. The potatoes were good- not greasy at all. The presentation was great. I tried to bite into the English muffin and thought it was a rock- it was that hard. I tried tearing it apart and that was not successful either. Our server brought me a new English muffin that was much better, but my experience was already ruined at that point. My husband ordered the banana nut infused pancakes. They arrived as regular pancakes with bananas and nuts on top with some sort of Nutella-esque syrup on top. He is a pancake connoisseur and he couldn't eat these. I've never seen him push a pancake away before. First of all, infused usually means that it is soaked or within the food. These pancakes weren't infused at all. The coffee was good, and the OJ was fresh squeezed from what we could tell. Hubby also ordered a veggie omelet and said it was good, but fairly bland. My son had a biscuit with his CYO scramble, and said everything was good. The consensus on the pancakes between the five people that ordered them in our group is that they weren't great. Again, our server was super sweet and great at her job. The host that seated us was also friendly. I would come back sans kids for just drinks...we probably wouldn't order food here again.

One of my favorite, favorite places to eat dinner after a day on the beach in Melbourne! Great atmosphere and great fish tacos. Ahi is great with mango sauce and refreshing! Fun atmosphere /crowd. Staff is friendly and you can't beat the ocean views!

Three stars for location. Awesome view and cool layout. We went for. Friday happy hour at around lunchtime. It was dead in there. But we didn't mind. Their smoked wings are too smokey. Their fish tacos were delish! But the drinks were mediocre. All-in-all, the value wasn't there, despite the "discounted prices." The only reason it was worth it ...was the view.

I ordered eggs Benedict, my wife ordered eggs florentine. The eggs were hardboiled. Will never get that again, if we ever go back. The waiter came by after we finished, so we told her about the eggs. You think we should have at least been comped on my wife's mamosa, but no.

  • Kyra W.

Extremely typical of a beach front place in a popular area -- food is mediocre to average, drinks are a little weak, and everything is a little over priced by a dollar or two. The ahi tuna and fried mahi mahi tacos were average at best and lacked flavor. The crab and cheese smothered fries, though, were really good and an unexpected surprise, although pricey for the small sprinkling of crab they put on them.

One star is really too much. We came with a small group and we should have left the minute the hostess gave us and attitude. This place is filthy and the entire staff is ridiculously rude. The food the actually came out was hardly edible. I never got my lunch so I am reviewing from my kids and friends. Listen to all the bad review and just do not go !

If it had four wheels it would be a garbage truck, cause it already has plenty of flys!! So gross could not eat our dinner they were landing on everything! The waitress said the owner did not want to put out candles or fans so they put hot sauce on the table!! The food was not good and it was just plain gross! The only thing I was sorry for was I should have taken.a picture of the swarm of bugs on our plates and sent it to the health dept! We paid for food we did not eat, and even with our discontent no manager or owner ever showed his or her face! Love the location hope someone else takes over some day and gives a damn about the customers!!

The only reason it has one star is for the atmosphere. The food sucks and the service is just as bad. Way over priced for drinks and food, been here for breakfast and lunch and will never go back. Don't waste your time going to this place

Things this restaurant has right: the view, staff... nice, but harried Things that this restaurant will need to correct if I ever step foot in again: it needs to appear much cleaner, it needs to employ enough people to ensure a reasonable wait for food, it needs to remove the offensive photos in the men's room (now that I know that I will not take my boys there... families frequent this restaurant, it's not strictly a bar!!) I had a bad experience with my food but the other 5 folks at my table had a good meal, if not the best. I know it's ocean front so that's what they're banking on. But, I can get a delicious takeout and eat at a picnic bench overlooking the water on many area beaches... so, better up the anti, folks!

Nice Ocean view. Have been for breakfast and that was good. Today I had some lunch which included the mussels, which I hope don't make me sick because they were the fishiest smelling and least cooked mussels I have ever had, and did not eat much of them. The bloody mary drink was requested to be spicy and with a pickle if it was possible. The bloody mary received tasted like ketchup water, no texture and was served with olives. Appetizer for two: Djon's special creation came with a spicy warning. I have had frosted flakes that packed more of a spicy punch than this; the chips it came with were borderline stale. I will only return for breakfast...and that's only if I don't get sick later today. If you want a great bloody mary (or better lunch) go to Cheddars instead.

Shabby beach bar with average food but a great view. We had breakfast and you can't beat the view and the price. Weekday special - two eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast for 4 bucks. On the beach!

  • Alicia L.

Staff friendly, View nice, Food and Drinks were awful. It is also way too pricey for the dishes. Smoked fish dip tasted like something out of a can. Coconut shrimp were just frozen warm-ups. Chicken Panini over cooked and dried out. Fish taco's overcooked. Hamburger over-cooked. Reuben very tough. I would not recommend this place to anyone, other then for a bottled beer and the view. It is also looks dirty and run-down. I think 2 stars is quite generous. I only gave those because of the friendly staff. Personally I will never go back.

We cruised the coast in our classic convertible and found this place on the beach. Greeted by Sandy the security guy and once inside the service and food were all great. The view is amazing and the prices are reasonable. Thumbs up all day long!

The view is the best part about the restaurant. It's lovely as the sun is setting. However, other aspects aren't so great. They're scattered. Although we were seated right away, it took a while for a server to visit our table. She did a fine job, though. The food itself is okay. My tuna had no flavor- not seasoned at all. The broccoli was plain as well. The rice they were served on was good but too salty. The burger is apparently good and their fries are average. The fish from the fish and chips is alright. Overall, it's alright.

  • Gina C.

This place has the slowest service, the tables were all dirty. The waitress didn't bring our bill for a good 20 minutes. Totally under staffed for a holiday....Great location, the food was fine...But bad service.

  • Joseph M.

I loved it. Right on the beach and you could walk or swim while waiting for food. I loved the wings--they were smoked. The pain I had was good too. Everyone loves the food too. However there is somewhat limited parking, and it was reasonably pricy. Great service, location, and overall well.

    (4)
  • Taylor H.

Very good food. Friendly and decent service. And the best atmosphere. You can literally eat and drink with your toes in the sand. Drink are a little pricy but nothing outlandish for being on the beach. Access to the beach right there (no charge for parking) for a great after dinner walks. Definitely will go back the next time we are in Melbourne!

  • Chris H.

Although the waitress was nice. The place not really busy ,It took a while to get service. I had the smoked fish dip served with stale tortilla chips. Not sure what was worse. The stale part or the fact that every time you try to put the dip on the chip, it broke. Lol. The dip was not bad. But nothing spectacular. My wife had a chicken sandwich with a side a mayo. Waitress asked. Do you want a salad or fries? Wife responded fries. Plate arrived...... You guessed it no mayo and salad. We asked for mayo again. And fries. I think the mayo arrived after the third ask. We never did see the fries. We will give them another try because we feel anyone can have a bad day. And the view is beautiful.

Fish tacos were pretty bad. Not sure whose in charge of the menu here but it was rough. The server was ok, but it was slow so no huge fear there. The rest of the food was average.

The best part about Sand on the Beach is obviously the location and view. Honestly, that's the only thing special about the place. The first time I came here, we just wanted to check the place out and have a couple of drinks, and stay for lunch if the menu looked good. Nothing really stood out to us, for the prices. The $5 margaritas were decently priced, but weak, and not all that large. My boyfriend and I shared a shrimp cocktail appetizer, and it was pretty small for $10. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to share. The second time, I went with my mother, because we wanted to sit ocean side. We were looking forward to brunch, which we missed by a few minutes, which was fine, we knew were too late for the 11 am cutoff for breakfast foods. We had mimosas anyway, which were tasty. We ordered the wicked spicy appetizer, which did not come out in 5 minutes from the time we ordered it. I wouldn't note that normally, but the menu specifically stated it would be out in 5 minutes, for some reason. That was fine, we weren't in a hurry, but it did take over ten minutes to get to our table. They said they had to prepare more chips. It was worth the wait, the chips were piping hot, and the dip was very tasty. A large serving this time, enough for even three people. It was very good. For lunch, we both ordered the shrimp tacos. The serving was generous, the shrimp was prepared nicely, and the slaw was good. The sauce/seasoning wasn't all that great, but no major complaints. I'd say if you're looking for ocean front dining in the neighborhood, this is about the only sit down place around, and it's not bad. Our server was sweet and attentive. If you're looking for fantastic food, I'd go else where.

Breakfast at 10am. No set up on the table. Three scramble eggs came with one slice of toast. Took 10-minutes to get more toast. Eggs were cold by then. Never heard of Breakfast coming with one slice of toast. Never asked if I wanted coffee refill. Would not have breakfast here again. The only thing good was the ocean view.

We love this place! Best breakfast in town. Actually have never been for any other meal times... Probably should do that! Anyway, back to breakfast... Beach bar needs 1) View of the ocean, preferably on a wooden patio or deck 2) cheap beer 3) Friendly wait staff (doesn't hurt if they are cute) . In this regard , Sands meets or exceeds all expectations. Other bars would be happy with overpriced bar food, but Sands is relatively inexpensive and the grub is actually innovative and pretty decent ( for example, along with traditional breakfast fare , they have a waffle with crab, shrimp, and hot sauce.) They seem to be a bit understaffed but although the lone employee upstairs was humping it they were always friendly and patient. Same owner owns a couple of places in town from what I understand and they have all been surprisingly good experiences. Kids are not allowed upstairs (which I think is a recent change). Although all signs say "bikini bar upstairs" the staff were all wearing typical sports bar attire . Ate there 3 times in 48 hours . Would recommend for a laid back evening . Beer selection needs a little help.

Visited on a Wednesday with a business business group of a dozen or so for dinner. Menu included a good variety of seafood and sandwiches, but draft beer selection was putrid (5, including bottom shelf lighy beers). Seating is semi inside, which offers a good mix of sea breeze and covered shelter. Noise level was good, but it clearly was a slow night. ... mostly older crowd, out for early dinner. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and had decent flavor, but nothing special that would have me salivating for a return trip. After dinner, we headed to the bar upstairs for drinks. The seating is limited, but offers sweeping views of the coast. Again beer selection was bad. The music playing was top 40 high energy which screamed dance club, but no damce floor was to be found. I would have expected slower paced island music or something classic that people connect with. Most patrons at the bar were middle aged, and by 9pm it was a gost town. Overall, this establishment is good for a view but dont expect anything special by the way of food and beverage.

They get only four stars because they are under renovations. Food , view ,and service is great. This does not show up on trip advisor but it should. We sat outside and had not issues. When-they are done renovating this place will be a must visit.

Great location, but horribly inconsistent food. How does one screw up (what is probably frozen) coconut shrimp? Ask these guys. Total tourist trap kind of place, and doesn't even have good live music. Sub-Meh, at best. Edit: I went back two times since my last visit and both were terrible. One star is a blessing for a rating on this place. On one visit myself and four others ordered beers, and we got one Bloody Mary, One Rum and Coke, and two beers. This order took 15 minutes to get, when the bar area had around 12 people in it. BAD! The next order was just as late, and almost just as wrong. Instead of four beers, someone got another Rum and Coke. Are the order machines damaged? Is it part of the beginning of a robot takeover, and the first step is to get everyone as mad as possible over screwed up drink orders so that we don't realize the robots are taking over SkyNet? I don't know...I just think it is a problem with hiring and retaining good talent. On my most recent visit I paid my bill and left with my gf, leaving another couple behind. The bartender approached them and said I had not paid my bill, and our friend had to pay my bill. He stumbles drunk into my house demanding the $20 bucks he had to pay the bartender, ruining what I was hoping to be a quiet night in with some daring sex acts thrown in the mix. After I was done beating him senseless with a table leg we realized that the bartender said he did not pay his bill, and I did not, making both of us pay twice. Again, where do they get their point-of-sales systems, Bargain Bills Shitty Restaurant Supply House? So, yeah...another crappy night and a epic cock-block by the staff. Another couple things: Why would you have a pool table that many people can use and then replace it with some dumb-ass novelty exercise bike that blends drinks when it will only really be used once or twice a month? I worked in bars and nightclubs for years and anytime someone proposed this type of thing to me my bullshit detector would go up immediately since it is the same principle as watching Faces of Death while on acid. Yeah, the first few minutes is cool and new, but in a very short time it becomes an experience you want to stop and forget about forever. Also, what would you call having a sweet building, on a sweet beachfront spot, with a great view, but horrible service and sub-par food? One word. Tragic.

Sand on the Beach is a great place to go for weekend brunch! It's so sunny and nice, and the view of the ocean is unbeatable. I also like it for late night drinks. Very friendly place. The old bay crab fries are incredible!

This spot had so many seating options I couldn't decide what todo w myself! Bar, table, overstuffed lounging, upstairs downstairs and all w a quiet beach view! Worth heading here away from the action of downtown. I'll be back despite it being so far off my usual grid :)

Great view of the ocean, but otherwise not spectacular. Particularly problematic was the service. It took an hour and a half for lunch because there was one waitress for both the bar and dining area. Moreover, the food, although satisfactory, was overpriced. Most gauling was the fact that the happy hour menu was inaccurate. The only reason I decided to have beer with lunch was that the Corona was allegedly $3. However, when the bill came it was 3.5. Admittedly, this is not a huge difference, but when I mentioned it to the waitress she stated that people always complain about it and that they usually demand a manager and that they need to fix the menu. In sum, things might be different for dinner, but our "happy hour" lunch was somewhat frustrating.

This place is very inconsistent. There seems to be a lot of staff yet very slow service. They served one person at our table who was basically done eating by the time the rest of us received our food. There were people who came in before us who got their food way after we did. There were also people who came in after us who were instantly served. The food was not that great either. I tried the wicked breakfast waffle which the menu claims is "extremely spicy" it tasted like extra mild salsa. I have tried the seared tuna salad which is good but pretty over priced for what you get. The environment was not very welcoming either, perhaps you have to become a regular first. The view is very nice, maybe this is more of a sit at the bar, look at the ocean with a drink type of place rather than a full restaurant.

I only came here for drinks so I can't comment much on the food. I went to the upper deck and enjoyed the great view outside. The bartender was friendly and the decor was vibrant. I got a kick out of the women's restroom with the male bodies on the wall. :p

I had to come back to my review and update since my last 3 visits have pretty much been the same.. The food and service has really gotten better. :)

The view is beautiful. We went there for lunch after fishing all morning. Our waitress was very sweet and efficient. We started off with a dozen oysters that were haphazardly shucked which is annoying and the crackers were stale. We then had panini sandwiches. I had the turkey bacon and my boyfriend had the caprese. Both were pretty good but for $12 dollars plus an additional $2 for fries, I was not impressed. It was okay. If you want to have a beer and enjoy the view, this is a great place, If you want to overpay for an average meal then you will love this place.

Worst burger on the beach. Come on! Super salty burger cooked in bacon grease?

  • Dorinda P.

I'm only giving this four stars because I didn't really get to try to much of the food. Our service was great. Our server went by the name mr incredible and he sure was. I had the bucket of seven different shots of liquor for ten dollars and was awesome and the best French fries. My friends had the burger and fries and said it was done just right. I wish I had ordered some seafood but knew we would be eating dinner soon. We sat upstairs outside and the view was spectacular. Right on the ocean. You could also sit on the inside and they also had couches scattered around to chill. As we were leaving a guy was shucking oysters so of course I stopped and asked if he could shuck me a couple. He stopped shucking an order he was doing for some one and shucked two for me. They were the biggest oysters I've ever seen. Tasted just like the ocean. Again Mr. Terrific. (his name on our bill) was the best and didn't hurt that he was some good eye candy.

Great happy hour specials. Upstairs bar is the place to be on a nice day. Food is a little pricey, but I assume rent has to get paid when you're right on the beach. 99% of the people there are great minus the occasional rude customers who don't understand: restaurants get busy, servers don't cook your food and complaining about a nickel won't win you any friends on the beach. Laid back vibe, good music... Tasty drinks.

I went for family rehearsal dinner and the service was great with so many people ordering different food. I was not too impressed with the food because it was expensive n small portion. The teriyaki sauce on the salmon was not good, I would prefer blacken or grilled...

Atmosphere atmosphere atmosphere!,,, The food was wonderful, service was great and they had mimosas for 4 dollars. Oyster specials on Sundays, too. Only disappointment was breakfast ended at 11. The place is right on the ocean. It's great

Just had lunch there for my first time. The place is old and the seating is outside but don't let that stop you from trying it. The seating is right next to and partially on the sand. There is good shade even in the middle of the day. The food was very good (shrimp taco & caprese panini). The service was very good (thanks frank) he made good recomedations and kept the glasses filled. The price is good for the quality of the food and the location. We will be back

Stopped in for drinks and had a few appetizers. Amazing view of the beach. We were told by a friend who lives here to try the quesadilla and they were right! I wish we had order two.The wings were fine, the smoked fish dip was just OK. Our server was very nice and perfectly attentive.

Horrible! Went for the $9.95 all-you-can-eat brunch buffet, but was disappointed in many ways! The food quality of the buffet was poor. Everything was either bland, poorly cooked, or not fresh. When we got our check we noticed that our waitress charged us $4.50 EACH for 3 orange juices. The problem is, when we ordered the juice, she didn't ask us what size we wanted, nor did we know we had an option because it wasn't on the menu. If we knew a large oj was half the cost of our brunch, we would have ordered the small. When we explained this to our waitress & asked for reconciliation, she gave us major attitude, took $5 bucks cash out of her tip stash & slammed it on our table. At this point we were more bothered by her horrible attitude. We asked to speak to the manager, who ended up resolving the situation by comping the 3 oj's completely. Wouldn't go back. Heed the Yelp reviews!

    (1)
  • Cindy J.

Wow - worst service I've had in a LONG time! We only left a 10% tip and even that was generous. Plus, a lot of menu items weren't available, including the happy hour brand beer special the waitress had already offered us. At the very least a substitute should have been offered for the same price, especially considering we waited @ 10 min. for a waitress and another 10 min. to find out the beer she described wasn't available. The food was mediocre at best, and we were STARVING by the time we got our order! The view is beautiful, but after this crappy experience I would only be interested in going there if it was for post-beach beers - not expecting much! **UPDATE: It appears from the pictures that Emily N. either works at Sand on the Beach or has a vested interest in the place - she's tagged pics of the staff and one of herself at the opening night. Not exactly full disclosure. Notice hers is one of only two positive reviews. Pretty lame.

The ONLY thing this place has going for it is the fact it's right on the beach -- food was terrible, service not so great, and the prices are too high for the poor quality. If you want to have someone partially fry some frozen Sysco hashbrowns, pour some scrambled "eggs" mix out on the grill, and pull a few slimy melon chunks out of the fridge and call it a seasonal fruit cup, there you go: Sand on the Beach has you covered. Also, if looking at a young woman's belly button or butt cheeks hanging out the bottom of her shorts if your idea of good service, again, they've got you covered here.. I wish I could say something nice about this restaurant (I really do!), but I can't... As others have posted here, it's a waste of a perfectly good location. You're better off grabbing something from the Friendly Toast, or the Sand Bar if it's lunch time, and just walking down to the beach to eat.

    (1)
  • Mark G.

What a complete waste of an awesome location! The service was lousy and exceptionally slow, the food was average at best, and the price was high. I'm fine with higher prices when all else is high, but this place is low, low, low...how low can you go? Yeah, Emily works there...I've seen her. Nice job to the other yelpers for outing her!

  • Julie B.

Horrible breakfast experience. Two of our orders were brought out (tiniest 3 egg omelets I've ever seen) with no mention of the third. We waited and waited and finally arrived - at this point we unwrapped out silverware only to find filthy forks, crusty filthy disgusting. When asked to speak to the manager, a young man with a dirty black shirt and hat on backwards came by. We explained our service was slow, never seeing the server for refills of drinks, meals brought out late and now this disgusting find. His first response was to blame the general manager for leaving him high and dry without any help - I thought as the manager on duty it would be his job to take responsibility - not blame someone else. We left without touching our food - disgusting!

  • James F.

I was very excited to go here, but it wasn't as I'd hoped. The scenery was great but the food was only par and the service left much to be desired. I wouldn't necessarily call the dining expensive but it cost more than what it's worth. The home fries, however, are very delicious! I would not recommend this location though.

We've been going to Sand on the Beach since it opened. It started out "good" and has gotten progressively better. I'm partial to the variety of salads. The beach wrap is unique. Great burgers. The menu is extensive. The brunch, which we visit each weekend, is very nice for $9.99. Omelets and waffles made to order, plus eggs, muffins, salads, and everything else you'd expect. Of course, sitting right on the sand dunes watching and listening to the waves, doesn't hurt.

    (4)
  • Jeff G.

I love any restaurant where its no shoes required since you can walk right off the beach, and the tables are right in the sand. I had an avocado salad with shrimp and iced-tea. The food, service and prices were great. And its not just a stunning view... you are in the view since its just over the sand dunes from the waves.

If you can ignore the beautiful oceanfront setting then perhaps you can enjoy the outstanding chicken quesadillas. Worlds away from ordinary, these were delish! The staffers were friendly and courteous. It's was a busy lunch day but food arrived quickly and hot as you'd expect. I think the low ratings from the other reviews were from their initial startup jitters when they opened 3 months ago. Dijon knows how to run a restuarant and no exception here. The prices were in line with local restuarants. Overall a very good experience.

The eggs Florentine and the omellete were tasty and prepared expertly. Orange juice, fresh. Stella Artois, cold. The sound of the surf and the view most certainly enhanced the dining experience. I will return and suggest other readers try the place.

The idea that Emily "stumbled upon" this place is just laughable. If you go to her reviews on UrbanSpoon, she admits that she works for Djon's Steakhouse. For those that don't know, Djon also owns this place. I don't mind someone working for a place & praising it, as long as they're upfront about who's signing their paycheck. But when they give a place 5 stars & make you think it's an unbiased opinion...well that tells me all I need to know about which restaurants to avoid.

This was so disappointing. From no greeting, to dirty table and no table setting, waiting forever for food. Forgetting items. Food was sub-par and still charging full price, despite our frustrations. Save yourself the aggravation, it is not worth the view

the view is great, but very unorganized and horrible service. No one took our drink order after sitting at the table 15 minutes. we waited another 10 minutes after speaking to the hostess before leaving. we drove an hour to eat by the beach and it took longer to talk to anyone. :( lol come here to look at the beach and get free parking. bring your own food and beverages!

  • AMANDA S.

DO NOT EAT HERE! The location was nice, right on the beach. The atmosphere was confusing. There was a very small crowd for a Saturday night, which should have been the first clue. The menu promises fine dining but the waitresses are wearing tight tank tops and super short shorts like a sports bar. We ordered a dozen raw oysters and cocktails from the bar. The oysters were good. For dinner, I ordered the ribeye medium rare and I got WELL DONE. The mash potatoes were piled on in a double portion but were thick and salty and warm but not hot. The steamed broccoli was just plain and steamed with nothing else. The presentation was zero. My friend had the stuffed snapper and the fish was overcooked and dry and fishy tasting and the crab cake was soggy. I worked in the restaurant business for 11 years and I am not usually a complainer but for the prices, the food was way below expectations. When the waitress asked about the food and the steak, I politely told her and showed her that my steak was extremely well done. She did apologize and came back at the end to offer us a free desert. I was starving so I ate about a third of my meal. I declined the dessert since we were full and staying in a hotel and quite honestly I didn't want to eat anything else from that place. No other compensation, discount, or even a visit from management was provided. That was the worst $100 meal I have ever eaten and the management obviously doesn't care. If you just want to have an appetizer and some drinks on the beach, go here and take advantage of the tiki-hut sand floor seating but do NOT eat dinner here! Very overpriced and not good at all!

Nice atmosphere right on the beach. Food was so so but you can't beat the view. I saw some people complaining about the service in their reviews but found the service to be acceptable (at least for breakfast)

  • Mike P.

I went here last night for dinner and I have to say it's not THAT bad. Not as bad as everyone is saying atleast. Now the service isn't that great. It actually was slow, but I've had a LOT slower. Refills took a while, but I'm not really surprised because it's just sooo dimly lit (lit up with rope lights in the canopy) that how could you see the cups from across the room? Anyways, lets go back to the food. It again wasn't bad. I got the fried calamari and the crab cakes. I'm in search of great lump crab cakes but still looking. It wasn't bad but nothing like Maryland crab cakes, which are to die for! One thing is does have going for it is portion size. The crab cakes were around 4" diameter and 1" thick and they give you 2 of these for $15. Then the fried calamari, they give you a large plate full of them for $8. My total with a drink ended up being $27 and for the amount and quality of food, it wasn't bad. I've paid a lot more for a lot worse and less...one place that comes to mind is that Chameleon Fusion Bistro off Palm Bay. Anyways, the view was also great but I don't like eating outside next to the beach unless I was already at the beach because now you have that salty air sticking to every inch of exposed body parts.

  • Amy B.

  • Joseph M.

I loved it. Right on the beach and you could walk or swim while waiting for food. I loved the wings--they were smoked. The pain I had was good too. Everyone loves the food too. However there is somewhat limited parking, and it was reasonably pricy. Great service, location, and overall well.

Great specials, great coffee, stunning ocean view. Waitresses are always friendly and accomodating. Bathrooms are spotless. No other way to start the morning when we're in Indialantic!

We recently ate at Sand on The Beach for the second time. This time we brought friends with because bragged on much we enjoyed our first visit. We were there on March 18th, 2015. There service was terrible. We had to ask to constantly ask for drink refills it forever to get our food. There was not a waitrs assigned to us. My fishs were over

  • Michele G.

  • Annie F.

I only came here for drinks so I can't comment much on the food. I went to the upper deck and enjoyed the great view outside. The bartender was friendly and the decor was vibrant. I got a kick out of the women's restroom with the male bodies on the wall. :p

Everyone el

I loved it. Right on the beach and you could walk or swim while waiting for food. I loved the wings--they were smoked. The pain I had was good too. Everyone loves the food too. However there is somewhat limited parking, and it was reasonably pricy. Great service, location, and overall well.
